Dear Parents,

It was another full week at school last week with work on rockets, memorizing lines for the play and reading a Midsummer Night’s Dream, and taking the first quizzes of the year. The week ended with a Friday afternoon soccer game against Sussex.

In math, look for your children to be explaining a problem or two to you in the coming week. It will be part of a homework assignment to explain how they solved one of the problems to a parent. Also, ask your children about doing problems on the windows in the mod pod. Recent research has shown that doing math on “vertical non-permanent surfaces” helps improve problem-solving skills.  Your students will all have had a chance to try that out a time or two by the end of this week.

I hope you all weathered the crazy weekend snow safely and that your children are enjoying a free Monday.

Cheers,

Linda
