We’ve had an exciting week in middle school. To begin, I am beyond proud of our young leaders; their words, voices, songs and signs brought power to the Families for a Liveable Climate rally on Friday afternoon. They were an authentic and powerful example of the importance of community action.
In Language and Literature, we are exploring Shakespeare’s, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as we prepare for a celebratory middle school production that will be presented on December 18th. All middle school kiddos are either acting, singing, designing sets, costumes or graphic designs for the show. It’s a wonderfully full collaborative and creative effort. In our studies of the play in Lang and Lit, we are looking at the timeless themes in the novel. 8th graders are taking the study a step further through an Interdisciplinary Unit that they are doing with Jeff’s Humanaties class.
We hope to see you all at the all parent meeting on September 26th at 6:30 pm. Also, don’t forget that Monday, September 30th is a professional development day for teachers; there will be no school for students.
Have a wonderful and restful weekend.
